wheelchair access for my Mum

Donation protected
We are asking for assistance to help build a ramp on my 87 year old mother’s house who is a pensioner. My mum is almost completely blind from macula degeneration and has very bad osteoarthritis in both knees and is currently recovering from a number of blood clots in one leg which makes walking any distance and up  and down stairs difficult. There is currently 13 steps she has to climb up and down to get in and out of the house and consequently she very seldom goes out of the house unless she has to go to Dr or to hospital. She is also deaf and has some heart failure and some other health issues.    She has had  a recent fall this year which resulted in broken ribs and shoulder  damage which has left her with  restricted movement in her right arm and shoulder which means she needs assistance with showering and dressing.  She is on a my aged care package Level 3 but they will only contribute what is left in her package to the cost of the ramp which is  $4,000. They have organized a quote according to the ASA standards for the ramp which will accommodate a wheelchair and would involve having to put another door into the house as it is not possible to put the ramp to the current entry and a wheel chair through the doorway.

My mum is very independent and wants to stay in her home as long as possible and a ramp would make this possible and would mean she could spend some time outside. The current estimate for building a ramp that we have received is$13,299 of which her package would contribute 4,000 so we would need to raise $9,299. If the ramp can be reused after my mum no longer needs it we are happy to donate it or the materials to another person in need through an aged or disability care agency.
