Help restore faith in humanity

What a wonderful weekend and wedding with family and good friends. Everything went off without a hitch and a good time was had by all at Nature's Bridge in the Olympic National Forest.

Then it all went sideways. My son and his bride made their way back to Seattle Sunday night, went for a walk together on Monday, and came back to an apartment that had been ransacked and burglarized. The cash that friends and family had generously given to support their lives together was gone, along with family jewelry, computers, PS4, TV, basically anything they could get a buck for was gone. A lousy ending to such an wonderful event.

I need your help! While I would love to just write a check and make them whole on this I have had some financial challenges and am unable to do so. Ben and Andrea are just getting started, paid for a good chunk of this wedding themselves, and are dealing with some pretty serious student debt, as are most younger folks these days. They are both gamers, having introduced games to many friends, and they are always ready to enjoy a game with new friends, and introduce them to the wonderful world of games. Ben typically works for Reaper at PAX in Seattle every year. He and I have both been part of the gaming and miniatures community for many years.

If you can find it in your heart to give a little something to help make them whole after this crime, I know it will go a long way to restoring all of our faith in humanity. His mom and I would be forever grateful and continue to help gofundme efforts for others, as we always have.

The funds I am asking for would do two things, replace the wedding money that was stolen, and fund the $1000 deductible that their insurance requires, plus a little extra to take care of the fees. This could have been much worse, nobody was hurt, stuff can be replaced. Insurance will help replace a good deal of their property, though in the end the sentimental value of family heirlooms is likely lost forever.

While I know that these things happen in life and we all have to deal with them, I felt this campaign was something I could do to try and make up for a loss that hit at such a devastating time. I am hoping to raise the funds by the end of the month, to send them into their new lives together with faith restored and knowing that there are so many great people out there that want to help.

I am going to kick this off with what I can, I hope you'll join me in supporting their dreams, and letting them know that people, that may not even know them, care.

Thank You!
