Helping Hands

I have been teaching for 11 years in a special education classroom in West Michigan. Four years ago I met a beautiful 6th grade girl named Jersei. She has Cerebral Palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. She is also dependent on others for all her care needs. Jersei is being raised by her grandmother who has struggled with health issues also. In the last 5 months their mobile home has encountered many concerning issues. The flooring has caved in in several spots and is rotting in others due to unseen water leaks.  The home is not handicap friendly, including the bathroom.  Jersei's bed is also an older hospital bed that she has outgrown. Due to her limitations, she spends a lot of time in this bed which is uncomfortable and falling apart. 
While this family does without many things others may call necessities, they are kind and always smiling. 
Please consider donating money to help with the purchase of some items (updated adjustable bed, handicap accessable equipment, and repairs) which will allow the family to be more sufficient with Jersei's care needs.
Jersei has taught me that you can be defined by your limitations, or you can be limitless in your life.
