We're raising monies for my cousin, Yolanda Harrison. Yolanda has always been the life of any party. She's outgoing, fun-loving, hard-working,, compassionate, devoted, loving with an infectious character and smile. In the blink of an eye this vibrant, dutiful and dedicated young woman, went from making plans for a wedding to fighting for her next breath. On September 13, 2018, she went in for what we thought would be a SIMPLE 2 hour feminine procedure (Hysterectomy ) and turned into 9 hours, that left her fighting for her life.
Due to not yet determined complications, Yolonda is in dire need of extreme medical attention and assistance. Her intestine may have been damaged during surgery, allowing bowel to spill into her blood stream and leaving her severely septic. Within 24 hours of discharged, Yolanda was rushed by ambulance back to the ER. She was admitted and has been in the ICU ever since. When the family questioned the reasoning for Yolonda's post op condition, they were not given any sufficient response. She's currently restricted to a bed 24 hours a day battling server infection, spiking blood pressure, and dialysis four days a week. Things have been critical ever since returning to the hospital. She has developed blood clots in her hands and the circulation throughout her body is minimal. She is assisted by a ventilating tube and has multiple pieces of equipment assisting with blood circulation, feeding, and bowel movement.
Yolonda has already had four surgeries since returning to the hospital, leaving her with an open wound to her abdomen and multiple drainage tubs while she continues to prepare for additional surgeries. Yolonda expected to be in the ICU for at least a few more months before transferring to a general recovery room. The medical bills are piling up and her care falls solely on her mother. Your donation will help relieve some of the financial strain off of her mother, as she has had to stop working to be by her only daughter's bedside. All funds will go to medical treatment, equipment, possibly moving her to another facility better equipped to assist in her recovery and making sure her mother is able to maintain.......as we have faith Yolanda will recover and come home. We are asking for your help and your prayers!
