House fire in Park Orchards: Support for Michelle De Almeida
Donation protected
It's been really difficult few years for my sister Michelle De Almeida and my niece/nephew:
- Covid decimated their 20 year-old music and wellbeing business in Victorian primary schools
- Post Covid, a significant mental health issue traumatically split the family apart, leaving her to be a single mum
- And then on Sunday 13th April they experienced a devastating house fire which tore through the rental home in Park Orchards
The fire has left nothing but ashes and heartbreak. In a matter of minutes, everything they owned — furniture, clothing, cherished memories, and daily essentials — was destroyed.
The family and pets are safe, but they are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting from scratch. Having devastatingly misunderstood the insurance coverage we have just found out they are now left with nothing - but the clothes on their backs and few ashy trinkets.
My sister and her family have given freely to their friends, family and community their entire lives, helping, healing and supporting whomever and however they can. And now, we are humbly asking for your help.
Every dollar donated will go toward helping them replace basic necessities, and furniture and begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.
If you’re able to support at all — your help will make a real and immediate difference. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others can help just as much.
With big love and gratitude from our family, we deeply appreciate any support. XX
