Wexford Pantomime Society is delighted to announce our first ever VIRTUAL Panto which will take place from 1st – 3rd January 2021...streaming online for FREE (Which is why we need your help!)
Normally we produce our show for a live audience & sell tickets...but this is not possible in the time of Covid19! So this year we decided rather than have no show & disappoint the children of Wexford, we would produce an online only panto & stream it for FREE! Thanks to the support of local County Councillors, our Sponsors & now YOU (hopefully), we can offer the show for FREE.
All we ask is if you would like to make a contribution to the society and support us through this time, we would be extremely grateful. It will help us cover the costs of the production & protect the future of the Society.
In addition, we have teamed up with FOCUS Ireland and 50% of any profits will go directly to this incredible charity. FOCUS Ireland have confirmed they will ring fence any money donated to be used locally in Wexford services. We feel strongly about children being homeless & ask you to help us support FOCUS Ireland this Christmas.
Wexford Pantomime Society is a non profit, child centred, community based arts organisation. We pride ourselves on giving children from all socio-economic backgrounds a chance to experience theatre and the arts, without it costing them (or their parents) anything financially. We also keep our ticket prices extremely affordable to allow everyone, regardless of income, a chance to attend the Wexford Pantomime each year.
ABOUT THIS YEAR'S SHOW:
Jack and the Beanstalk 2 – Locked-Down but Not Out!
Written and Directed by Thomas O’Leary and filmed by Ted Moran, in traditional Panto style, we have decided to pay a visit to our old friends from Jack and the Beanstalk to see how they’ve been doing over lockdown!
For over 50 years Wexford Pantomime Society have entertained the people of Wexford at the Dun Mhuire Theatre. Last year we closed the curtain at the Dun Mhuire for the last time and looked with great excitement to presenting our first Pantomime in the National Opera House.
Unfortunately 2020 has been a year like no other with a global pandemic causing lockdowns and sadness across the world. The people of Ireland and the people of Wexford have been so brave and battled so hard to protect and look after each other. We have missed our family and friends, we have cocooned and isolated, we have done so much together while staying apart.
But do not fear, we have pulled out all the stops to ensure that Wexford Pantomime will produce a short Panto this year, one where all the family can tune in and have all the fun of Panto in your very own living room.
Our story takes up where we left off last year when our hero Jack and his Mum Dame Daisy had finally found their happily ever after. Having befriended the Giant at the top of the Beanstalk all their worries were over that was until they had to face Lockdown!
So join Jack, Dougie the Cow, Hattie the Hen, Little Boy Blue, Little Miss Muffet and of course, Dame Daisy once again, but this time as they Lockdown together!
There will be Zoom calls to friends, home schooling, online exercise and a whole lot more. With an online chorus and choir off over 100 local children singing and dancing their way throughout, this promises to be a Panto like never before. We might even have a chase scene and the traditional sing along song that you can take part in!
So gather the family around, young and old, and join us from the comfort of your own home as Wexford Pantomime Society presents:
