Our family is deeply saddened to inform you that my nephew, Westyn D'Angelo, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 17th at 23 months old. As many of you know, he has been suffering from complications for some time now. His precious little body handled its last bout of strength and fight. We are relieved that his passing was peaceful and painless.
Westyn was only two days old when he had his first of many long stays at the NICU for 30+ days. He had a bowel obstruction that required surgery to repair. Though the surgery was successful, he has been in failure to thrive on-and-off his entire life. After numerous surguries and procedures, doctors were not able to confirm a definitive cause for his failure to thrive.
His infectious smile and genuine happiness is deeply missed by our family and friends. We are asking for assistance with the funeral expenses as this has taken a huge toll on my sister's family. We would like to thank everyone in advance for your support and prayers at this difficult time. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff, nurses, and doctors at Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn for their constant care and compassion.
Visitation services for Westyn D. D'Angelo will be held on Monday, August 21st from 3:00pm - 9:00pm at Kerry Funeral Home, 7020 W. 127th St., Palos Heights, IL 60463. Chapel service will be held on Tuesday, August 22nd at 10:30am at Kerry Funeral Home. Interment Resurrection Cemetary.
