We met a very nice lady about 13 years ago from the Philippines. She moved to Alabama and got married, had two children, and soon after divorced. Several years later she met an American man who lived in Hawaii, divorced with one daughter. They moved here about 4 years ago, and he has become a very good father to all three children, ages 9, 9, and 12. She has a good job and is going to school at night to finish her degree and they are working together on a house flipping side business. They were to be married this spring.

Let me introduce you to our friend Myla, her fiancee Chris, and Julia, Jacob, Gloria, and their German Sheppard Bella.

Saturday night, Myla had finished work and went home, later she answered a knock on the door to find her neighbor, very upset, telling Mila to come with her. Not far from their house they came upon several fire trucks, and ambulances, a helicopter, and a tragic crash scene. Myla recognized one of the smashed cars as hers and panicked to find out about her entire family.
The police let her see her children being placed in the ambulance, and all got minor injuries and crying. The paramedics were still trying to get Chris dislodged from the front of the car. He was screaming from pain, but she knew he was alive. She rode with them to the Hospital in Birmingham.
They said the helicopter was for the man who hit them, but they weren't sure of his condition. He later passed away.

The man who hit them had  his license suspended and he has no insurance. We don't know anything more about him at this point. Myla's insurance dropped Chris because they are not married yet and all the new insurance, Obama and Trump saga, made Chris and Gloria not eligible.

Not long ago, they bought a car that was used, and Chris insured it with a liability insurance.

Can you see where I'm going with this? Chris is in Grandview Hospital for who knows how long with a titanium rod in the top of his leg. All three children have been admitted and released with a broken arm and all with bruised lungs and seatbelt bruises. A totaled car and no insurance that will help them. Not to mention their dog, Bella, ran in fear and hasn't been found yet.

My wife and I can't help much financially, but I am pleading with you to post this story for all to read and please help with a Gofundme donation to help them get another car and pay as much as possible for medical expenses. This is an American Dream family, church going, hard working, polite beautiful children, and out of the blue, someone can put them in a financial nightmare. Chris said they postponed their wedding plans because he is afraid this financial burden will pull Myla down and ruin her good credit.
Chris, Myla, and the children were so shocked at how many people and neighbors are offering to help in some way. They are so humble, but even more deserving of all that we as a community can do to help.

Look it up online or in the Birmingham paper. The accident happened Saturday night between nine and ten o'clock, Jan. 5, 2018.
