Our Story
Our membership supports our Veterans, their families, friends and the community since 1938. They were serving the community before and after World War II and the Korean War and in 1954 the club became a refuge and coordination centre in the aftermath of Hurricane Hazel.
It has been up to each passing generation to continue what our Veterans' established. Our club is a community meeting place so people do not need to be alone or feel isolated, left out, or not belonging.
We are a place to gather, have some lively conversations, play cards, darts, shuffle board, etc. We watch the news together, share a drink together and gather for special occasions knowing that we have a community family that is there to greet us each time.
Our membership is our sole source of revenue through annual dues, donations, and participation in group club events (Meat Rolls, raffles, golf tournament, dart league). We do not receive any government assistance.
We are asking those, that can afford to extend a donation, to assist us in re-opening (when we get the go ahead) so we are once again the meeting place for our community and neighbours.
Funds will be used for the following;
**Pay outstanding monthly bills (Hydro, Water, Enbridge, Rogers, security alarm monitoring, etc)
**Purchase basic supplies and sundries on re-opening
**Bar stewards' payroll (2 full time & 3 part time) for the first 2 pay periods after we re-open
**Leaky roof – patch work required
**Old & damaged eaves troughs/down spouts
**Repairs to men’s and women’s washrooms
**Other repairs based on necessity and health/safety of the building
