W. Kangaroo Island c'van park bush fire recovery

Have you been to Kangaroo Island in South Australia and stayed at the Western KI Caravan Park and Wild Life Reserve?
Maybe, you just what to help the recovery efforts from the 2019-2020 bush fires.
On Thursday 2nd January, 200 caravan park guests were evacuated from the Western KI Caravan Park and Wildlife reserve.
Hosts Fiona and Mark Jago returned on Monday 6th January to find their home, office, camp kitchen and three cabins destroyed in the bushfire.
The south west coast of Kangaroo Island is now devastated, along the entire length from west of Vivonne Bay all the way into Flinders Chase National Park.
The visitor centre, camping facilities in the national park have been destroyed. (The Islander News ).

Flinders Chase National Park and the caravan park are closed until further notice.
We want to help Fiona and Mark re-establish the caravan park and support the wildlife that may have survived.
They will use the funds to buy replacement trees for those destroyed and damaged in the fire.
Please make a donation so that the work can commence as soon as possible.
Fiona and Mark will be able to withdraw the funds directly to feed the animals returning to the site.
In addition, please pass our message around the world to those who have been there, would like to go there, or are watching and listening from afar.

Who we are and why we want to help.
Last year Deb, Cheryl, Julie, Sandie, Di and Graham travelled to the western end of Kangaroo Island to walk the 5 Day Flinders Chase Wilderness Trail . To the Hash House Harriers that’s Waters, Pithy, Julie, Dribbler, Flush and Wasta from the Brisbane Hash)
We stayed at Western KI Caravan Park & Wildlife Reserve, where hosts Fiona and Mark provided friendly service and a comfortable stay. We stayed amongst the koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, bandicoots, possums, Cape Baron geese and birds such as firetails, parrots and curlews. Fiona and Mark maintained a Koala Walk, and a Wildlife Reserve – both of which we were able to wander through and see a very diverse group of Australian wildlife. They drove us to the start of each section of the walk and were there at the end of each day with smiling faces ready to take our weary bodies back to the caravan park.
Each afternoon we marvelled at the huge koala we named ‘old grey bum’. On cue, he purposefully wandered amongst the guests looking for mates. We watched the koalas perched in the tall grey gums around us. We listened in awe as the birds and swans, celebrated another day. We admired the Cape Baron geese, bush turkeys, wallabies and kangaroos as they worked their way through the grass paddocks. Then, we finished our days off, gazing at stunning sunsets and spectacular starry skies.
All that changed in the early hours of Saturday 4th January 2020.
