Help us save a life

The Westbrook Recovery Liaison Program (WRLP) is working with a young man from Westbrook who is in desperate need of treatment. This is a man who grew up in Westbrook, played on the football team and graduated with honors. At 18, he lost his father which started his downward spiral. A Detective of the Westbrook Police has connected this young man to WRLP because he watched this man grow up while coaching him in football. The Detective has also put in effort to help this man succeed because he believes in him. He is currently at Milestone completing detox and will be released on Friday, the 22nd.

WRLP has an agreement with a treatment facility that we will pay for 2 weeks and they'll keep him for four weeks to work on his recovery. While there are a number of treatment facilities that have scholarships, the waitlists are 4-6 months long. The organizations that we've reached out to with private funding are only for people with an opioid use disorder.

We have researched the intended treatment facility to ensure that this man will get quality treatment. We have been able to raise $1850 through WRLP and 2 others, but still need $2,070.  We would like to get this man to the facility on Saturday.

If/when we reach our intended goal, anything extra will go towards the aftercare plan to help him continue his sobriety. This man is motivated, genuine and very grateful for the support.

Any donation, large or small will be greatly appreciated.
