West's Flooding on Trongate

Donation protected

In September of 2015 my adjacent neighbor (Chad West) and I endured a horrible tragedy.   Our newly built homes that we purchased in 2013 were flooded: 4ft. of water in mine and 9ft. of water in theirs.  Their basement was completely up to the joists in water.  The developer was still under bond t the time and was coerced by the county to make improvements to persuade water runoff into the desired/expected channels.  Even after those "improvements" to runoff the flooding happened again the night of Tuesday, August 21st 2018.

Having already dealt with this personally once before I can only fathom having to go through it a second time.  The West's are still recovering from the initial flood in 2015, both mentally and financially, and the difficulty of situation has been compounded by Chad's 80 years old mother-in-law who had moved into their basement to be under their care.  Her lifetime of belongings and memories have now been erased.

The cleanup effort is now underway but it will be at a price, to include his wife, Jill, her mother, a younger dog, an elderly dog, and a sick cat having to live out of a hotel, maybe never to return home as they fear for their safety.  The costs are uncertain but at Chad's request I have created this fund to help with any day-to-day needs or unexpected costs that arise of the next several weeks.
