We’re looking for one more hero…YOU!

Tax deductible

You can help “Operation Heroes”

serve those who have served us.

But first, our backstory…

The Jarett Yoder Foundation is a charitable organization that assists local community heroes in need — including active military personnel, veterans, firefighters, EMTs, first responders and police. The organization was founded in April 2013 by Diane Yoder in memory of her son Jarett, an Apache Helicopter pilot for the Army National Guard who was killed in action during his last deployment in Iraq.

Turning tragedy into hope

As a way of coping with the heartbreak of her son’s death, Diane decided to give back to the community in a meaningful way. With its Operation Heroes initiative, the Jarett Yoder Foundation shines a beacon of hope for community service personnel whose lives have met with unfortunate circumstances. The foundation helps local heroes with housing assistance, a food pantry, applying for medical and financial assistance, learning work skills, educational scholarships, and much more.

With 18 Patriot Houses in nine counties throughout Pennsylvania, the foundation currently houses 504 community members and their families. The foundation recently acquired property to create a new Patriot Resource Center at Marywood in Scranton. Renovations have already begun on the 9 beautiful buildings on the campus.

So, how can you help?

The Jarett Yoder Foundation relies on the generosity of donors to sustain our ongoing Operation Heroes mission. From time to time, we reach out with an appeal to compassionate folks who want to help make a difference in their community.

Right now, we have an immediate need for a new freezer at our Marywood location. We’re trying to raise $50,000 to purchase a walk-in commercial freezer-cooler for the cafeteria and food pantry. This will enable us to serve 175 meals on a daily basis. Any amount you can donate will move us toward our goal — and it will mean the world to us.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
