We are desperately seeking financial help for my brother, Miguel (Mikey) Mendez. He is a taxi driver in Mexico and on May 2nd, he was parked at his job site with his 5 year old son, when the unexpected happened. A group of men drove by and began shooting at everyone in site. They shot Miguel about 25 times and regardless of his efforts to hug his son to protect him, my 5 year old nephew was shot 5 times.
Miguel has suffered serious injuries including a fractured hand, legs, feet, hip and he may not be able to walk again. The surgeries he went through were unsuccessful as they were performed by doctors that are still going through Medical School.
Miguel needs a total of three surgeries which cost over $10,000 and we are asking for your help to get there. We are going through very difficult times and now with this, we are pleading for assistance. My brother is the sole provider of his three small children and needs to be able to walk again! Anything helps. Please share with everyone you know! We need Miguel to recover from this!!!

Estamos buscando desesperadamente ayuda financiera para mi hermano, Miguel (Mikey) Méndez. Es taxista en México y el 2 de mayo estaba estacionado en su lugar de trabajo con su hijo de 5 años, cuando sucedió lo inesperado. Un grupo de hombres pasó y comenzó a disparar contra todos en el lugar. Le dispararon a Miguel unas 25 veces e independientemente de sus esfuerzos por abrazar a su hijo para protegerlo, a mi sobrino de 5 años le dispararon 5 veces.
Miguel ha sufrido lesiones graves, incluida una mano, piernas, pies y cadera fracturados y es posible que no pueda volver a caminar. Las cirugías por las que pasó no tuvieron éxito ya que fueron realizadas por médicos que aún están en la Facultad de Medicina.
Miguel necesita un total de tres cirugías que cuestan más de $ 10,000 y estamos pidiendo su ayuda para llegar allí. Estamos pasando por tiempos muy difíciles y ahora con esto, estamos pidiendo ayuda. ¡Mi hermano es el único proveedor de sus tres hijos pequeños y necesita poder caminar de nuevo!
