Study Abroad in Argentina

I am raising funds to study abroad this upcoming summer in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for six weeks to hone in on my language skills and to advance my goal of becoming a medical scientist. I hope to learn practical solutions to healthcare challenges in the Latin American context and current financial and sociopolitical challenges in the healthcare system. 

Through this study abroad experience, I am able to complement my native Asian perspective and my acquired American perspective on healthcare with a Hispanic vantage point. This experience would largely enhance my goal of becoming a medical scientist who can influence healthcare policy and combat many ongoing public health challenges today.

I've never travelled to South America, nor have I experienced authentic Hispanic culture in person. This study abroad experience is able to expand my horizons and help me adopt a cross-cultural perspective as I work towards my goal of serving the underprivileged with novel research findings and advancements in public health.  The funds raised will support the program cost of this experience.
