In Wendy's own words:
The past couple of years haven't exactly been easy, 2018 may just be the hardest one yet....this smiling face (Lucas not mine haha) plus a few more of my favorites are what's gonna keep me fighting as I begin my battle against breast cancer. The months to come will bring chemo, surgery, and probably a lot more fun stuff I have yet to experience. But by the end of the year, I have plans to be saying F U Cancer!! Till then it's a rough road ahead...

The backstory:
Wendy is a 34-year-old single mom, caring for her 4-year-old son Lucas and her vast array of fur babies both at home and at work.

Wendy was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer just before Christmas and things have been moving fast ever since. She has already started her first round of Chemo two days after Christmas. She forced herself to go to work those first few days following chemo for fear of running out of time down the line.

The treatment plan:
In the coming weeks and months, Wendy will experience a myriad of treatments, medications, side effects and lots of trips to see her medical team. She will need to undergo a mastectomy and radiation after the Chemotherapy regimen is complete. This will all take place over the next 12 months.

The need for funds is immediate:
When you cannot sleep because you are worried about financial situations, the body cannot properly heal. Wendy will have multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, requiring her to use up most of her sick leave for weeks at a time. By the time she is scheduled for surgeries, she will be left with only unpaid time and bills to pay. Let's help Wendy get some rest.  Let's show her that her family, friends and even complete strangers are holding her hand during this fight.

How your generosity can help:
I'm reaching out to all of you who are reading this to help alleviate the financial stress cancer incurs.  Please help in any way or form you can,  Your generosity will give Wendy peace of mind so that she can concentrate on the physical fight and healing portions of her journey.  Most of all, you will give her enough peace of mind to fall asleep at the end of each day.
