Support Project Kaida – Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge
My name is Bikash Limbu, and I am proud to serve in the Brigade of Gurkhas, an illustrious regiment with over two centuries of history.
As part of my commitment to honouring our heritage, I am raising funds for the Gurkha Museum Trust, an institution that preserves the incredible legacy of the Gurkhas and supports vital initiatives like Project Kaida.
What Is Project Kaida?
Project Kaida is the redevelopment of The Gurkha Museum, inspired by the Nepali concept of Kaida—a blend of heritage, customs, and a forward-looking ethos that defines the "Gurkha way."
More than a museum upgrade, it celebrates over 200 years of Gurkha contributions to the UK and global peace. Project Kaida will deliver a world-class visitor experience, sharing the Gurkhas’ unique legacy with a global audience, both in-person and online.
The Challenge
To raise funds, I am taking on the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge over three days. This involves climbing the three highest peaks in Wales—Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), Cadair Idris, and Pen y Fan—covering challenging terrain and a total elevation gain of nearly 9,400 feet.
The Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge is a fitting tribute to the Gurkhas, symbolizing their resilience, strength, and connection to mountainous landscapes like their homeland of Nepal. It’s a meaningful and challenging way to honor their legacy while raising crucial funds for the Gurkha Museum Trust.
Why I Need Your Support
The Gurkha Museum Trust plays a vital role in preserving our history and supporting our community. By donating to this cause, you’ll be contributing directly to initiatives like Project Kaida, which:
- Preserve the Gurkha Legacy: Ensuring the stories of our regiment’s service and sacrifice are told to future generations.
- Educate and Inspire: Sharing the values of bravery, discipline, and loyalty through exhibitions, outreach programs, and educational projects.
How You Can Help
I invite you to support my journey and contribute to this important cause. No donation is too small—every pound will make a difference. Together, we can honor the Gurkha spirit and ensure their legacy endures for generations to come.
I will be updating my progress during the challenge, sharing updates, photos, and milestones along the way.
Thank you for your generosity and belief in this mission.
Kind Regards
