BSH Blacksmithing Club Fundraiser

Hello!
We are Vivian and Kyla, two Bend High seniors who have decided to help fundraise to purchase general blacksmithing tools (tongs, gloves, hammers, punches, etc...) and a high-quality anvil for Bend High's Blacksmithing Club.
After being formed by Bend High social studies teacher Jeff Anderson in 2016, the club has been able to acquire a small forge as well as some basic tools, but its resources are still lacking. To be able to satisfy the needs of the large (and growing) number of students who have demonstrated interest in forging, the Blacksmithing Club will need more equipment.
You may be contemplating a number of questions: What makes the Blacksmithing Club an important part of the Bend High community? What about the greater Bend High and Central Oregon communities? Why should I donate money?
Here's why: Bend High is a home (of sorts) to a very large sector of Bend's youth. We think that Bend would be significantly more fantastic if its largest high school had more resources for cultivating creative minds and helping students explore their options for potential future careers, hobbies, and more. We also plan on exploring the interdisciplinarity of blacksmithing and other areas of study and recreation within Bend High through the Blacksmithing Club (for example, using the anvil to construct horseshoes for the Equestrian Team). Opportunities to engage with other communities and organizations in Bend through the club would be taken advantage of as well. Thus, the Bend High Community (and overall Bend community) would be considerably more unified and connected if Bend High were to have more blacksmithing-related resources. If a portion of its students were more engaged, united, and knowledgeable, especially with regards to blacksmithing, we wholeheartedly believe that the overall Bend community would be improved upon.
