Maya's cancer surgery

Our dearest Maya had a seizure on the morning of Monday, March 28, 2016. My baby girl went from rolling her tennis ball back and forth to me as I dressed for work to what was one of the most frightening things I've personally had to experience. She suddenly took off running, but in the same instance had no control of her legs. In an effort to keep her from falling and injuring herself, I rushed to her side to comfort her because at that point I had no idea what was happening and whether or not my sweet angel was going to make it. She was having trouble breathing and I could feel her heart beating at such a rapid pace that I thought she might pass out completely. About two minutes later, whatever was happening to her suddenly stopped. She was wobbly and scared, but all else seemed fairly okay. Because she is deaf, I got down to her eye level to give her smiles and looks of reassurance and comfort while stroking her back. I of course was in tears at this point, but got it together to make an appointment for Maya to see her Doctor. Since then her health has been not so great. After numerous doctor visits, blood test, ultrasounds and a ton of money spent, it was found out that my sweet girl had extremely high calcium levels as a result of a tumor on her parathyroid gland. This tumor has progressed to a point where we have to remove it as quickly as possible to avoid kidney failure, and at this point her excessive consumption of water indicates that we should move on this sooner rather than later. Additionally, we have found out that this illness has no relation to the seizure she experienced and an MRI is required to determine if she has cancer or anything else going on with her brain since seizures are typically an indicator of such. As you can imagine the cost of these procedures is overwhelming especially considering the money we have already put out to get to this point. I love my girl and so does everyone else she comes in contact with. She loves children, especially babies, and as a dog owner all of my life, I have never met such a sweet, caring, compassionate and kind creature. I can't imagine how life would be without her and also can't bear the thought of her having to experience the health issues (including death) that can come from not getting these issues treated. She has dog siblings that love and need her here to live out the rest of her days as a healthy girl so I'm hoping some will find it in their hearts to donate to Maya's page. Anything counts and would be greatly appreciated. I myself have donated to animal causes and go out of my way to help stray, abandoned and hurt animals any chance that I can. Because of this I know there are wonderful and caring people out there willing to help. Maya is 8 years old and as a Boxer/American bull dog mix has many more years to go. Please help our sweet girl in any way you
