16 week old Luna 2nd Heart Surgery

Our baby Luna Starnes has already endured a lifetime of medical intervention in her short 16 weeks of life. She is at Doernbecher hospital as I write this fighting for her life after a 5 hour emergency open heart surgery.
Luna was born with Tricuspid Atresia, a congential heart defect that requires a minimum of 3 surgeries to manage. The first surgery at 6 weeks of age was traumatic and overwhelming to the young family. Missed work and costs associated with travel to and from the hospital (120 miles away), food and care for their two young children left at home consumed all of their savings and more.
Expecting another surgery more than a month away, the self employed couple, Amber and Steve had hoped to work many extra hours to try to make up for the 10 to 14 day hospital visit they would experience. This emergency however happened so much sooner and has left them in a serious financial crisis.
Family and friends are generously offering to help, but not knowing the best way to support them. We are trying to find a way to pay rent, utilities, insurance and buy food for this young family. As hard as it is to ask for help, it is even harder to see them struggle and to know that they are saddled with such a massive burden right now.
We are asking for your help to keep this family of 5 on their feet during this terrifying time. These parents need to be able to focus all of their love and attention to helping this baby heal from this trauma. Let us band together to give what we can to ease the very real financial burden they are weighted with. Keeping the lights and heat on, the roof over their heads and their kiddos fed is paramount.
