Our sweet Bonnie Gott underwent surgery to remove her thyroid last month, along with some tumors. The tumors were found to be malignant and were removed at that time.
Bonnie will be going to Oahu next month for further treatment to ensure she is cancer free. As a single mom to two beautiful children, Shellby & Eo, she has been working hard to stay afloat while trying to recover from the surgery.
As her friends and community, we are gathering around to support and assist her during this time. Bonnie needs as much rest as possible right now, as well as when she receives treatment on Oahu.
It is important for her to take time off of work to heal and recover from her treatments. This funding will help cover that, as well as any of her living expenses. She has a specific diet she needs to be on, so in lieu of meals, we are asking for financial contributions to buy the proper ingredients. She has found someone to help care for her at this time and needs some funding for this person, as well.
As a friend of Bonnie's for over thirteen years, I can tell you that she is the one to be the first to help when called upon. She's a hard worker who takes tremendous pride in whatever she does. She is one of the most nurturing and wonderful mothers and friends I have ever met.
Her friends have insisted that she be the one to receive this time! She did not ask for this type of help, but I know she would be tremendously grateful for any help that is given.
Gift cards from Mana, Down to Earth, Costco, or Whole Foods are greatly appreciated--or any food store! Gift certificates for body workers for Acupuncutre or Massage are also welcome.
We are asking for help immediately, so she can schedule the time to heal. When I had a long term illness five years ago, I think one of the greatest contributors to my healing was knowing that I had a community behind me and supporting me to get better. Let's do the same for Bonnie! We will be incredibly grateful for anything that you can do.
