As some of you may know, I officially began my career as an elementary school teacher two years ago. I have had the pleasure of teaching both first and fifth grade. With the help of my amazing family, coworkers, and an additional full-time job, I have been able to provide for myself and my classrooms in addition to reusing supplies.
This year I will be teaching *drumroll please*... Kindergarten!
I am beyond excited to start this new journey—in the beloved school I have come to call home over the past two years, I might add!—With this transition, I truly wish to build my vision classroom to engage, inspire, and support my students in a welcoming and warm space. I have collected as many supplies as possible over the past few years and have begun purchasing new materials over the summer. With your support, I would like to continue doing so. Any support, big or small, truly means the world to my students and me and will go directly toward helping my students thrive. Thank you so much for being part of this journey with us!
A little bit about my school and my approach to teaching...
The school I currently teach at is a Title I public school in Connecticut. We are known for our commitment to SEL and our special education program. This is one of the reasons I opted for this method of fundraising as opposed to an Amazon Wishlist, as most teachers do. As I get to know my class and individual students, my required materials may change. Having these funds will allow me to make any necessary purchases in the first few weeks or months of school in addition to start-up materials I have already begun collecting. My goal is to always meet students wherever they are when they come to me and to scaffold their skills and strengths to watch them achieve success.
