Weir Family Fire Recovery

The Weir/Summit family, like many others in Northern California, have been severely affected by the rampant wildfires. The entire family - Chris, Kelsey, the 3 young Weir boys, Kelsey's parents, brother, and neice - evacuated early Monday morning, Oct. 9th, as flames approached Kelsey's childhood home in Redwood Valley. The entire home, the travel trailer the Weir family was staying in on the side of the house, and nearly all of their belongings were lost. To make matters worse, Chris and Kelsey were days away from closing escrow on a new property in Tomki, which was also scorched by the fire. 

After seeing photos of the aftermath, it was clear that minimal, if any, belongings survived the flames. The Weir and Summit families are slowly coming to terms with the devastation that has wiped out their homes, as well as their community.

The families have four young children between the ages of 1-9, who are strugging to understand why all the sudden they no longer have any personal belongings. While all things will eventually need to be replaced, and donations of material items are greatly appreciated, monetary donations are the best way for the families to meet their current needs. 

In times of tragedy, we call on friends and family to help our loved ones as they start to rebuild. In urgency, the family needs funds to afford a temporary home, pay for food and toilettries, recover lost wages, and take the steps to get back on their feet. 

As Chris' mom and sisters, it has been devastating to see our family lose everything. Kelsey's family lost their home of 25 years, and the young Weir family now has to start all over as well. 

We are so thankful both the Weir and Summit families, along with their pets, have survived this horrific event and are in high spirits. Thank you in advance for whatever help you can offer to support this big, beautiful, loving, mulitgenerational family.
