Weight loss surgery ( life saving )
Hello, my name is Amy Johnston and I’m 22 years old.
My dream is to live a normal life and one day be able to work as an animal carer.
Unfortunately, I have a number of serious health problems which are preventing me from reaching my goals.
I currently weigh 39 stone and find it hard to manage with most daily activities. My wish is to get to a healthy weight and move foward in my life.
My weight has been a problem since I was a child, but I now find it increasingly hard to walk due to pains in my back, ankles and knees. I also suffer with my breathing and find it difficult to get a good night’s rest. In order to get by, I have to rely on the assistance of my mum and sister.
I am in close contact my GP and have started seeing a dietitian who said my current diet is not a major factor to my condition. The NHS will not give me weight loss surgery as I don’t meet the criteria.
I feel the only way im going to get my life back on track is by raising the funds for private surgery - at a cost of nearly £11,000. But my family and I are unable to come up with this amount ourselves.
My journey is going to be very long so in hope to speed things up I have set up this page.
I believe that there are good people out there that understand how hard my fight is.
Once I get better, I hope I will be able to give something back to society.
Thank you for visiting my page and taking the time to read this.
