Jimmy Lucas' Fight to Beat Cancer

Jimmy Lucas of Sulphur Springs, Texas, was diagnosed with Colon Cancer on July 29, 2012 at the age of 48. He was not yet 50, the age when doctors generally recommend an annual colonoscopy. Jimmy attributed the aches and pains he was feeling to just "getting older;" however, those aches and pains were due to a tumor the size of a coke can. The doctors began the radical 27 radiation and 54 chemotherapy treatments immediately. On November 1, 2012, Jimmy underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Today, Jimmy is still continuing a 6 month chemotherapy plan.
