Weekend Meals for Hungry Kids
Donation protected
Students at 2 elementary schools we partner with to provide literacy instruction in the Congress Heights neighborhood of DC, rely on school for almost all of their meals. Many of these kids are homeless or from very low-income homes, meaning they likely do not have access to healthy meals over the weekend.
Alicia and I have committed to providing 2 children a weekend of meals, each week, through the end of the school year. We are rolling big this year, and aspire to provide meals to 8 more kids, 5 at each school.
An average weekend of meals per student costs around $15. There are approximately 32 weekends left in the school year. Y'all are amazing for considering it! Here's to fighting for 2018-19!
