Weedney's Road to Spelman College.

Hello! My name is Weedney Exavier and I am a senior at Woonsocket High School.
This year I've had the honor of being accepted into the number one historically black college in the nation, Spelman College. Since I was 12 years old knew I wanted to be a Spelman Graduate. After receiving that acceptance letter, I thought I was one step closer to achieving my dream. However, after receiving my grant and federal loan offers from FAFSA and my financial aid package from Spelman, I realize I'm still $50k away from that dream.
I was born in Haiti, when I was four years old I experienced the devastating and catastrophic 2010 Earthquake. When I was six, my father and I traveled to the US in pursuit of a better life. Throughout high school, I’ve strived to be a well-rounded student by maintaining a 95.2 Average, working part-time, and accumulating over 100+ hours of community service. Now I am pursuing higher education at Spelman college. Spelman will allow me to build upon my commitment to positive social change. It will provide me with a strong sense sisterhood and educate me on issues surrounding my community.
With your contribution, I will be able to not only fulfill my lifelong dream of graduating from Spelman college but pursue a law degree as well. One day I hope to sit on the Supreme Court, and Like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I would like to be a tireless and resolute champion of justice and, in addition, become a role model for young black women everywhere.
I’m asking for a total of $50,000 to complete my first year at Spellman. This money will cover the $25,880 for Tuition, $3,005 for Student fees, $15,666 for Room/Board and the rest to cover books.
Thank you.
