Wee Man Jack
On July 3rd while walking our dog in the parking lot of the St. Thomas Airport (we had just arrived home), we encountered a gentleman (Neil) in obvious distress. He was in tears and looked forlorn. He explained that even though he had complied with all of the directions issued by an an “Unnamed Airline”, his dog Jack was being denied boarding. Neil and Susan were returning to Scotland from the British Virgin Islands and had changed their travel plans already to allow Jack to travel with them. They were devastated. But Kimberlie (our friend who was picking us up), Tracy my wife, and I (Jackson) volunteered to foster Jack until arrangements could be made for Jack to be reunited with his Mum and Dad. It has been over two weeks and the as yet the“unnamed airline” (the one with an “Advantage”) has taken no action. So we, Kimberlie, Tracy and Jackson have begun this fund raising effort. Please help us get 'Wee Man Jack' back where he belongs.........at home with Neil and Susan. Thank you!!!!
Goal:To safely return the “Wee Man” to Neil and Susan. Many options are available; first of all by law, all dogs entering the UK must arrive as cargo, except for service dogs none may arrive under the seat in the passenger cabin. That leaves the options of sending Jack as freight and Neil and Susan will meet the flight in Glasgow (cost approximately $1600.00) My main concern about that plan is that lots of things can happen that might cause the aircraft to divert and no one would be there to look after Jack until the flight resumed. Traveling with Jack one way would add approximately $1300.00. As a retired airline employee I can return as a non-rev for nominal charges which we will cover as part of our donation to the cause.
