Wedding Gift Donations For A House!

Donation protected

It is with the utmost humbleness that I am here, writing this out for those who wish to read. So, please don't see this as a "help us" campaign, but more of a wedding gift to help us start our lives in a home we can call ours.

I'm Rochelle, and I'm hosting this go fund me to help raise money for the down payment on our house.

My story goes a little something like this:

Our son, Jace, is the biggest reason we want a house. As much as we would love the apartment life, not having to upkeep our yard, having an already-paid-for pool and never paying for maintenance, our boy needs his own space. A space where I don't have to say "no jumping, no running, soft feet please, you can't play with that inside it's too loud, don't throw that against the wall, people can hear it". I'm basically telling him to not be a kid and it breaks my heart. Our second day living in our new complex, I got an early knock on our door by a very irritated man asking if there was a child running back and forth. The thing is, he wasn't running... just walking. I want to be able to play tag and scare him so bad he screams at the top of his lungs without worrying about upsetting anyone around us.

Jace has allergy induced asthma. He was admitted to the hospital in January 2015 when he was 2 for pneumonia, and December this past year for basically being unable to breathe. He had a nebulizer last year but after a doctor told me to stop using it, his asthma got out of control. We went to the ER 3 times in one night because they couldn't fix it until he finally got admitted for 3 days. One of the scariest moments of my life (so far at least) was driving to the ER a third time listening to him struggle and gasp for air.

That being said, he's still got medical bills stacked up that we've had to use our savings for (even after insurance). He's got a knack for getting extremely sick in the middle of the night on a Saturday... Thankfully, he's doing much better now :)

On a more personal note, we also have lawyer fees to establish child custody/support that costs damn near what we were planning to save for our house down payment.

My husband is from Norway and after spending 2 years apart, we decided to get married and he moved here. That being said, he has no credit history so we definitely need a down payment to help secure a loan.

Because we spent so much on my husband's citizenship/green card, we never had a big wedding for our friends and family to attend and since then just never had the ability to save for a house. So, if you, for any reason at all, wanted to attend our wedding and congratulate us with even the smallest wedding gift, this is the time! $1, $10... Anything and everything helps us right now. There is no doubt we can afford a payment and maintenance, it's just obtaining a house in such a short time that is the issue. We're both working as hard as we can. Based on our current budget, we should have about $7,000 come December so we are hoping to go to a bank by then so we can close on a house right around mid March when our lease is up.

Thank you for your time in reading this, doing just that means a lot. Thank you so much, muchas gracias, and tusen takk from the Grimsmo's. Be well!
