The SEQUEL to Weather systems (2012) - the album “OCEAN WITHOUT A SHORE”
2 singles have already been released -
DO ANGELS SING LIKE RAIN?’
alongside many special edition covers.
A third single - “ARE YOU THERE part 2” in in production now to be released soon. A sequel to the 2003 classic, this song takes the heart of that song and explodes it into a musical rainbow, of tears and rain, of light and hope. A world class song.
We ARE going to make this music. I am going to get well again. It’s been the worst of times but we will never ever EVER give up.
From Daniel Ziak:
Dear friends & fellow music lovers!
I’m Daniel, a fan from Slovakia, and I felt deeply moved to organize this GoFundMe to support a new and exciting project, Weather Systems, a legacy band to Anathema.
Covid-19 has impacted us all, and in dark times, music is our shining light, our beacon, our place to soothe and find joy. But sadly, the entire industry has been adversely impacted and I felt compelled to give back, especially to the band that has touched my soul and provided the music that has been the soundtrack to so many meaningful and memorable moments in my life.
I set up this project with little confidence, not knowing if I’ll manage to build any followership, but nevertheless I can’t find peace without having at least tried.
I’m a long time Anathema fan. For me Anathema has always been more than music. It has been my friend, my companion, my go to place, my shelter, my energy in dark hours and my joy when life is good. I always felt like this music is speaking directly to me, like a soundtrack of my life, especially in these crazy times. It is my remedy against feelings of loneliness, distances between people, losses, ends. It is a music of hope, beginning and gratitude for what I have. I had it on my wedding ceremony and if they don’t play it at my funeral I won’t come… Jokes aside. This band has truly meant the world to me.
I was beyond sad when I learned about the end of Anathema, but I kept my hopes high. These times will pass too, but seeing Danny’s best instruments on sale made that hope fade away. Not only because these are important tools to write more music, but each guitar and piano is valuable history and Anathema’s legacy.
I decided to take action.
I scraped together all my money and bought one of Danny’s guitars so that I could gift this special instrument back to Danny. It was worth the investment. Shortly afterwards, Danny contacted me to say thank you.
I wish I could do more.
Unfortunately, my individual possibilities are limited, so I decided to initiate this fund raiser.
After contacting Danny to confirm he was open for this idea, he decided that he wanted to write a few words to make it clear that this initiative is for real.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO MAKE WEATHER SYSTEMS A REALITY!
“That’s a team, gentleman. And either we heal, now, as a team, or we will die, as individuals.” (Al Pacino)
I would sincerely like to encourage you, dear friends, to join me in sparing as much or as little you can to get this project off the ground and support the talented artists who have given us so much listening pleasure over the years.
If this is not a possibility, this is fine too – you can help by spreading the word and sharing the link with your social networks. This would be a massive help!
I believe, together, we can make it a community success and bring Weather Systems to life!
I dream that one day we will meet at a concert, standing together, enjoying the music knowing it is all happening because we have united and each of us had a direct part in making it happen.
I send to everyone reading this note a message of good health, and I hope that one day in the not too distant future we can once again experience the joys of live music, which even if it isn't strictly essential seems to somehow make life more worthwhile, bringing us together, reminding us about what it is to be human.
So, let’s create a storm and get Weather Systems off the ground!
