What do you do when the shelves have been picked clean of paracetamol, soap and toilet roll? Start a community project to make sure that no one goes without!
The WeAreWolverton campaign, in association with the Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council, aims support those who are self isolating amid the COVID-19 outbreak if they are unable to ask family or friends to drop off essential items.
This gofundme page will allow volunteers to drop off everyday essentials that individuals are unable to pick them up themselves and might not be able to get delivered immediately.
A donation of 27p could ensure we get paracetamol to couple that's run out and is fighting over the last pill, in short saving their marriage.
Just £1 could get a chicken and mushroom pot noodle* to the guy sat staring at the door waiting for the supermarket delivery that's about to get cancelled.
A couple of quid could rescue the family that's down to the last toilet roll and considering rationing everyone, including the 5 year old, to just 3 squares a day**. Potentially saving them from a minor disaster.
We don't think this is going to be the difference between life and death, but we do think we can reduce panic and help everyone in the Wolverton and Greenleys parish access what they need.
And for those we help, we'll ask people to put a donation back into the pot. That way we'll be able to help anyone that's really struggling and cannot afford a supermarket delivery.
