We lost our Mother to Cancer.

Last September, my mother was diagnosed with Stage 3 Clear Cell Uterine Cancer, as well as lymphoma in her stomach. We were devastated, but she was ready to fight it and determined to beat it. As if it couldn't get worse, her kidneys failed right before her hysterectomy. She was in the hospital for quite some time recovering from surgery, a blood clot was found in her lung, and she was put on oxygen. We were blessed to have her home with us for Christmas. But, only a few short weeks later was she admitted back into the hospital for swelling and clotting in her legs.

It has been a long, painful journey for her and my family, but just this morning (March 13th, 2018) she lost the battle to cancer. She watched one last sunset, her husband was there with her. She is relieved of all of her pain and suffering, free of all of the wires and tubes and needles.

My family has struggled for months, and this is the very worst of it. My brother and I are dealing with the emotional grief of losing our mom, my dad - his wife of almost 50 years. We lost our home maker, the glue to the family. We are also facing an extreme financial deficit. We wanted her to have access to all of the care and treatments and support she needed.

We are left the the aftermath, now. My brother and I both work an unhealthy amount of hours, our dad is retired. Bills don't stop showing up in the mail and we are worried about honoring our mother with a proper memorial, at least. We are worried about losing our home, and everything she worked to build for us.
