Archie's Surgery Fund
Everyone's favorite snackhound needs surgery. At thirteen years old, he's still very robust! While he's a pretty lumpy and bumpy dude, he is otherwise very sharp, enthusiastic, and strong (he pulls me around the neighborhood looking for snacks). But one of these bumps has got to go.
He's got a subcutaneous hemangio sarcoma (tumor) on his front leg that poses some serious risk if not removed ASAP. Even since we scheduled the surgery a month ago, it's increased in size and he's begun to limp a little on that leg. At this point, hopefully, it is mostly a preventative and diagnostic measure. The margins (between the tumor and the rest of his body) still look good, so we're removing the tumor before the malignancy spreads or causes blood poisoning to other organs. Further biopsies could reveal other news, but we're gonna deal with this for now.
I definitely had my reservations to set this up during this time of crisis. But I know that Archie has a lot of friends and admirers that might want to help out a little. Because really, a little would go a long way in chipping away at this vet bill. Archie's surgery is later this week (less than ideal timing with the election), so hopefully we can get some extra funds before then.
If you've ever smiled at his photos or laughed at one of my stories, please consider helping out. As an added thank you, I'll be sharing a digital zine with some stories and comics from friends about pets and snacks and unconditional love—another thing that could help us all smile a little more during these heavy times.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for your consideration.
