<div>Russet was struck by a vehicle and came to us in critical condition. He was suffering from numerous fractured ribs and a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) which was so severe that the pressure in his lung cavity was pushing his heart to the other side of his chest.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After numerous surgical procedures to reinflate his lung, his heart moved back to the left side of his chest and his lungs have shown significant improvement. Russet also came in with a sebaceous cyst above his eye that needs removing as soon as his lungs are strong enough for the surgery.

<div>With our own on-site vet clinic, we ensure that the wildlife we rescue receive the best possible care. But this all comes at a cost. Our amazing team of vets, who assist us around full-time jobs and family commitments, have been run off their feet. We are desperately raising funds to employ a full-time vet to keep up with the demand for our veterinary services.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>We need to raise $90,000 before 1 September 2024 to ensure we can continue to provide quality welfare outcomes to all the wildlife that come to us needing veterinary care. The first step in our fundraising plan is to raise $10,000 from end of financial year donations. This is your opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our beloved wildlife. </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We don’t receive any government funding for the rehabilitation and veterinary service we provide to our community and rely on your generous donations to keep operating.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>By donating to our fundraiser, you will be directly contributing to the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation efforts for iconic Australian animals. Every dollar makes a difference and helps us ensure that koalas receive the care they need to thrive in the wild.
