We the People can end global poverty together

The novel coronavirus pandemic has affected the entire world in one way or another. Financial difficulty has hit every sector. Millions of Americans lost their jobs and are not struggling to make both ends meet. This could be a new situation for us, but not for some parts of the world. In developing regions, one in 10 people live on less than $1.90 a day. As many as 1 billion people live without electricity and 2 billion people lack regular access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food. In as little as 10 years world hunger can be eliminated with an additional $265 billion per year in additional resources.

As a non-profit, The Borgen Project educates, mobilizes, and advocates poverty-reducing legislation by meeting US Congressional leaders. In Fiscal years 2018 and 2019 about 30% cut was proposed by the U.S. government to the International Affairs Budget. Why is this important? The International Affairs Budget supports critical development and diplomacy programs around the world. Programs funded by the International Affairs Budget also create U.S. jobs by opening new markets to American businesses. These programs also protect our national security by fighting terrorism and preventing conflicts.

Any help that you provide for this fundraising will go directly to The Borgen Project's fight to end global poverty. The fundraising will continue for 2 weeks and my goal is to reach $3000. To make this fight go on we need your help with this campaign. Let's end poverty together and spread our care for one another.
