We Stand With Rand

Dear Friends & Family,

We are starting this GoFundMe in honor of our dear friend and teammate Rand Rasmussen and his loving family. For any of you that may not know, Rand is bravely battling brain cancer. This is his 5th round with metastatic melanoma over the last 9 years and definitely the most difficult. He is undergoing radiation to hopefully eradicate the cancerous tumors that are affecting many of his faculties and having monthly immunotherapy treatments that will likely continue for the rest of his life. The cost is high for his and his wife, Vivian’s quality of life but they are humbled and comforted by the outpouring of love, prayer and well wishes that they have received. Insurance has been a lifesaver so far but he now faces new challenges that most likely will require handicapped considerations and possible home care as well as extensive physical therapy until he gets back on his feet. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly traumatic experience and will continue to be an uphill battle as Rand fights this cancer diagnosis.

Rand, as you all know, is one of the most genuine, dedicated and goodhearted men you'll ever meet. He has selflessly shaped, sculpted and encouraged so many students to push themselves and thrive over the course of his career as an educator and baseball coach. As utterly life changing as the past few months have been, Rand's strength and fighting nature through this incredibly trying time have proven unwavering. We are all so proud of our coach, friend, father, husband, son, and teammate. His impact and resilience will undoubtedly keep him strong.

There is no definitive timetable for Rand’s prognosis, but he is determined to remain in good spirits and work hard to fight this battle. We are all hoping and praying for his recovery!


We set up this GoFundMe page as a platform to ensure we keep all of Rand's wonderful friends and family up to date on his status and progress. Any donations towards Rand's recovery are so greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate know that prayers and communications from you are just as significant to his well being and his state of mind.
