We only have each other: fundraising for Lebanon

What happened in Beirut on August 4th shifted the axis of our lives. Nothing will ever be the same, and as we stand looking dazed at the ruins of our beloved, beloved city, we can not help but feel our anger soar at a political and ruling elite who have long lost all and any type of shame.
In the midst of all this helplessness, only one thing is clear:
Only the people save the people. We only have each other.
Hammam Radio’s purpose since its inception has always been to give space for the voices of the marginalized, for the voices of womxn, and trans and non-binary folks. After a week of silence to honor the dead and grieve this experience, now is the time for action and solidarity. We are setting up this fundraiser for the Anti Racism Movement and Haven for Artists . Proceeds will be split in half between the two.
These two organizations have been providing food, shelter, and financial assistance to those who in most need of it.

ما حدث في بيروت يوم 4 آب/ أغسطس غيّر حيواتنا رأساً على عقب. لا من شيء سيكون على ما كان عليه ما قبل جريمة انفجار مرفأ بيروت. وبينما نقف في حالة ذهول على أنقاض مدينتنا الحبيبة، وثكالى على من وقع ضحايا هذه الجريمة، لا يسعنا إلا أن نشعر بالغضب تجاه النخبة السياسية والحاكمة التي فقدت كل معاني الخجل وأنواعه منذ فترة طويلة.
لكن، وسط كل هذا العجز، هناك شيء واحد واضح ووحيد:
الناس للناس، الناس هم من ينقذ الناس. ونحن لبعضنا البعض.
لطالما كان هدف ”حمّام راديو“ منذ نشأته، منح وإعطاء مساحة لأصوات المهمشات والمهمشين، لأصوات النساء وكل من تعرّف نفسها بأنها امرأة، للعابرين/ات جنسياً وغير المنصاعين/ات للثنائية الجندرية.
بعد أسبوع من الصمت والتكريم والحزن على كل من قُتل في هذه الجريمة، على الجرحى، وبيوتنا، حان الوقت الآن للعمل والتضامن.
وبالتالي، نعلن عن حملة لجمع التبرعات للمؤسسات التالية:

سوف تُقسم التبرعات بالتساوي بين المؤسستين.
