<div>If you know Tim personally, you know his huge smile, his infectious laugh, his slightly OCD love for organizing anything in sight, his uncanny ability to set the vibe everywhere he goes, his deep instinct to take care of everyone else before himself, and his incredibly long and successful career in hospitality. That career he was so passionate about came to a halt last year with his ALS diagnosis. And if you know Tim, then you know Gibbie, his ever-optimistic, fun-loving, problem-solving bulldog of a wife. The two of them have always lived life in motion: new restaurants, concerts, road trips, ski trips, day trips, spontaneous adventures big and small.

<div><strong><em>Tim has bulbar-onset ALS</em></strong>, one of the most difficult forms of this disease. While all ALS is devastating, bulbar-onset affects the muscles that control speaking, walking, swallowing, and breathing—the things we rely on every moment without thinking. It has already taken away Tim’s ability to speak and eat. And now it’s requiring ventilation support so he can breathe. ALS is relentless, and yet Tim and Gibbie meet it every day with strength, humor, love, and a kind of grace that humbles everyone around them. Let’s just say it’s been a difficult year for the two of them.

<div>In January 2025, Tim and Gibbie celebrated his 55th birthday with their traditional ski trip. This year, on his 56th birthday, he was in the MICU at UCLA receiving a much-needed tracheostomy (trach). The extraordinary team there has treated him like a king, but the extended stay in the hospital along with the reality of the road ahead require significant and ongoing financial support.
