Welcome to the SAVE NECCO fundraising page. A dedicated team who made the once great company profitable for the first time in decades by 2012 is trying to save the company from closing forever.
There are a lot of GO FUND ME pages set up to save NECCO but this one is the only legit one around because the team to make the company successful once again is behind it. We appreciate everybody’s efforts to save the company but once you buy it you need to be able to run it. The team includes the talented people from Marketing, R/D, Finance and Operations that made the company work just 6 short years ago and we have the plan to make it work again.
The New England Confectionery Company (NECCO) has been manufacturing candy in the Boston area since 1847. Boston was once the candy capital of the world and NECCO is the only candy company left in New England and is the oldest candy company in North America. We are sure if you check you can trace a family member or friend in past generations that has worked at the candy company over the past 170 years.
Well now the company is in trouble as the Private Equity company that owns the company has announced they will be closing the company by May 6th if they cannot find a buyer. Well we can tell you that they have a buyer and that buyer is planning to liquidate the company, fire all the employees and close the doors of NECCO forever!
We are willing to dedicate ourselves to saving this historic piece of USA and Boston heritage and preserve the art of candy making and manufacturing jobs in Massachusetts. We did it before and with your help we will do it again so that the company will last another 100 years.
We need help in the form of money to move the company to a new home in Massachusetts. This company has been in our back yard for 170 years and it's time we save it. Let’s save our Necco Wafers and Sweethearts!!
Who is with us? It's time to show the power of the people can save a piece of American heritage. Let's get this done.

We have been informed by several people that we cannot offer shares in the company in return for your donations. We are sorry, we do not know if they are right or wrong but we can't take the chance . If you would like us to return your donation just let us know.

PLEASE READ BEFORE DONATING: Be advised that this is not a donation to a charitable cause, and there is no tax deduction available. It is a donation to a potential commercial venture. The funds raised would be added to other capital being gathered by the potential purchasers of some or all of NECCO. A donation to this campaign doesn't qualify you to claim equity in any potential acquisition; it simply means you want future generations to be able to enjoy NECCO.
Therefore, before donating, please note that there is no guarantee that the offer to purchase NECCO described above will be made or accepted. You are donating “at your own risk.” If your donation is not used to achieve the purchase of NECCO in some form, it will be returned to you.
