We love you, Pete and Ashley!

On October 17, the apartment building where my brother Pete and his fiance Ashley were living in Acton, Massachusetts suffered a major fire on their floor.  Pete, Ashley, and their cat Marzipan are okay, but they are all mourning the loss of their beloved cat Utini, who did not survive. 

When they surveyed the damage, they found that while a lot of the bigger items are okay (the cameras/laptop Ashley uses for her photography business, many of their books and records) a lot of items will need to be replaced or deeply cleaned.  Right now it looks like their mattress, futon, and papasan will need to be replaced, and a lot of their clothing will need to be professionally cleaned.  This is after getting engaged last month and planning their wedding.

Sam, Alison, and I are putting together this page to help Pete and Ashley recoup some of the damages and get back on their feet.  We all love them so much, and want to do whatever we can to get them back into a good place.  This fundraiser is to help with the immediate known expenses like their furniture and cleaning, and also give them a cushion for unknown expenses that may pop up down the road, such as medical bills, replacing items that can't be cleaned, and moving expenses.
