We love you little Lucy

Lucy was admitted to UNM Children's Hospital last Wednesday, March 7th, and subsequently diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.  After a short stint in the ICU, she was moved to a general pediatric floor where she continued to be watched closely and receive aggressive antibiotics.  As of Friday she began to feel better and found the energy for light play, however, Cori & Mike had their first indication that Lucy was unable to hear them.  It's been a waiting game.  Cori & Mike remain optimistic, hoping that, as the inflammation subsides, her ability to hear will return.  Lucy's health otherwise continues to improve little by little each day.  At the one week mark, she was out of isolation and was enjoying short trips to the community play area.  Lucy is expected to be in the hospital for at least another week as she continues her antibiotic regimen and meets additional doctors.  

Cori & Mike have asked their family and friends to send their love, thoughts, and prayers to their little Lucy!

And many of us who live far away from Lucy are doing just this, but we are also struggling with finding other meaningful ways to help.  We know that Cori & Mike are incredibly generous & caring individuals and that Lucy is an absolute sweetheart (and a budding comedian!), and we want to do more.  Hence this “go fund me” page came to be.  

All contributions are appreciated.   All funds raised will be used to ensure that Lucy receives the best possible care!  Specifically, funds will help cover the cost of Lucy’s medical treatment and all the other expenses that add up when two parents spend all their waking (and sleeping) hours in a hospital caring for their sick child.

Please keep the love, thoughts, and prayers heading Lucy’s direction.  This is most important contribution of all!
