Dear friends and family,
Our family has decided to set up this page in hopes of helping our brother Dan Eigen and his family.
As you know, Dan is a fishing guide in the Brainerd Lakes Area. What you may not know is that both Dan and Shelley (his wife) have experienced health issues this Summer. We are happy to report that Shelley is feeling well again! Dan, on the other hand, is not. He has been suffering from excruciating back pain due to disc degeneration and Schmorl nodes (disc herniations) for weeks. He has been seen by Twin Cities Orthopedics and the surgeon has determined that surgery is not an option at this time. He needs to rest and slowly build up the muscles in his back. Unfortunately, Summer is the busiest time for Dan and this is when he earns the majority of their income. He has been unable to work despite the phone ringing off the hook with people wanting to fish with him. Being self-employed, their health insurance isn’t the best. A combination of missed income and medical bills will likely put a strain on them.
We have NOT mentioned this Go Fund Me page to them. Knowing them the way that we do, they would not want us to do this. We are doing it anyhow so that they can see how much love and support they will receive from family and friends.
