We Fight for Yolie Fund

My sister, Yolie is a 42-year old devoted wife and mother of 3. And she has been aggressively fighting metastatic triple negative breast cancer for 5 of the last 6 years of her life. Her cancer diagnosis is further complicated by having type 1 diabetes and only 1 functioning kidney.

The median overall survival rate for metastatic TNBC patients is only 9 to 12 months. 

Incredibly, as a result of Yolie's determination and will to live for her family, the countless prayers from her #fightforyolie army made up of family, friends and supporters, and the medical care from the City of Hope, she is still here 4 years after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. 

Because her cancer is very aggressive, she made the difficult choice to continue receiving regular chemo treatments indefinitely.  She receives chemo other Tuesday at the City of Hope in Duarte, where she is being treated by Dr. Yuan Yuan , who specializes in breast cancer, and leads several clinical trials to find targeted therapies for MTNBC.

Yolie and her family are living in a 2-bedroom apartment in Barstow, CA. At this point, she requires full-time care, and her husband, Ed is the sole-provider for their family of 4. They also live in a rural part of southern california, resources and support are limited.
