WE! Care for Momma!

Many of You do,, and lots of you don't, know my story...

Back on July 14th 2017, I became the primary caretaker of my Mom.

She suffers from Alzheimer's Disease, a very cruel, and sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.

I don't even know how to begin this story, as I never expected/imagined this chapter to be a part of Our book called Life.

I've always frowned upon the word "gofundme" because it seems to be thrown out so easily and carelessly by so many, for such ridiculous things or reasons, and gained unimaginable support!
I did not want to be or look like one of those people.

Well, I guess the time has come.

Through my 'venture' with my Mom, I decided to document our times in progression, and regression (as that's what time does with Alzheimer's) via video & photos.
Unintentionally, I gained a bit of a following, as many Friends and Family knew Mom personally, and even drew attention from those who didn't! Our interaction together began to inspired many.
I documented mostly the good times, and rarely, but even the tough times.  The One and Only thing that is certain about Alzheimer's, is it strips away any and all good times.

My goal has been, to keep Momma in Her Home, where She has felt comfort and familiarity...
Unfortunately, Her Home has become Her prison, as Her mind continues to block all senses that once allowed Her to enjoy Her little paradise, and forcing Her needs beyond my capability...

I've been asked/told; "Let me know what I can do to Help!"

I was either too proud, or uncertain as to what exactly anyone from the outside could really "do to Help" with caring for someone with this cruel disease.

Well,,, maybe *this* is it...  This is Your "what can I do?"

This 'chapter' with Momma, is abruptly coming to the end, and the next page with bold writing is quickly turning...

Mom's needs (as much as I have refused to admit it) have become beyond what my Nephew and I are capable of keeping up with.
My work (E.M.T.) keeps me away for extended periods of time, which in turn has placed my young Nephew (Her Grandson), as the bearer of the unfair responsibility, Primary Caretaker.
Circumstances have taken him away, and as much as I thought I was,,,,, I am not able to sustain care for Her here alone.
I have found a place I am not only comfortable with in handing over the reigns, but also am very impressed with in their care and attention to detail in a comforting atmosphere.

There's a saying out there; "Charity Begins at Home"

I think of SO many of You as 'Family', and I know You feel the same. So I'm reaching out to You, and even those I do not know for assistance in helping make sure this transition with and FOR Mom can happen as smoothly as possible.
The time has come where we are in need of advanced care.
My emotions in a scramble.
Heart broken...

We are in need of a little support during the beginning stage of this transition.

There will be a few week gap before I can sell off my Mom's home and possessions, that will sustain her needs for the next few years to come.

This is where I ask for Your *generous* support, no matter how big or small.
I'm not asking You dig deep, or even at all.
Please feel free to share my story.

I cannot express the Love I have for You All...

"Thank You" in advance for All of Your Love and Kindness, and walking Hand-in-Hand Together in this journey with Momma and Me...

To Be Continued...
