Dear Friends,
Most of you know Bill Saltzer and know what a great friend and man he is. What many of you don't know is the struggle he has been through for the past three years. Three years ago, Bill was diagnosed with melanoma, the most virulent of skin cancers.
There have been more setbacks than progress. Bill has now found himself unable to receive any treatment or even an evaluation due to the loss of medical benefits. He has recently gotten insurance through work, however, the coverage is, at the moment, useless, because it carries a $2,500 deductible. Right now, he simply has no means to meet it and as a result, is going untreated. He frankly isn't even sure whether his disease may have progressed to the point of no return.
This is wrong and cannot be permitted. Britt and I have decided that this step must be taken so that he can at least meet the deductible. We're doing this in secret because he is a proud man and would object, so we're taking it out of his hands to ensure that he stays with us for many more years. So please don't tell him.
We're setting a goal of $3,000 to make sure the deductible is covered with a bit to spare, just to make sure. Please help us with this! We have lost far too many friends and artists recently. Let's see if we can prevent another loss.
