Ohana's mission is to "spread peace and positivity through performance".
When you walk in the doors of 41 Sheridan St, you become a member of a family. Walls with uplifting quotes, dancers smiling while trying new things and growing, teachers embodying love and supportive challenge, and family members gathered, chatting, sharing their days and lives with each other.
Today, that family is in trouble. As a fairly new business (less than 4 years old), Ohana relies on monthly tuition payments to keep the doors open. In its new home, the bills are higher than ever, and are so difficult to be paid with current tuition amounts being paid by beloved families. Despite all this, the incredible staff continues to offer online classes and enrichment, understanding that many folks are unable to make tuition payments due to their own circumstances.
With recital and summer camp plans still in the air due to COVID and unreliable tuition payments, it's very possible this incredible place will have no choice but to close its doors for good.
The money raised through this campaign goes directly to paying rent, utilities, teachers, and allows the business to survive this pandemic.
At the end of this crisis, with whom do you want to share your time? I imagine for many it's with our Ohana and to see our children back doing what they love the most.
We are a small group of Ohana Mamas trying to save a very precious place for our children and we know others feel the same!
