Sharon's Medical Fund

Sharon has been fighting osteosarcoma (a rare form of bone cancer) for almost four years.  She has exhausted all treatments and is now at a roadblock and running out of treatment plans.  She has been in extreme pain.   Sharon  just recently found out that the tumors are rapidly spreading all over her body and have even spread to her lungs.  The ones on her spine are the most serious and causing her extreme pain.  The scary news she just received is there are two tumors that are compressing her spine and are very close to entering her spinal cord.  Since these tumors are aggresive it is just a matter of time before they cause paralysis from her neck down.  She has done her research and is not giving up yet.   The good news is there is a medication out there called Radium 223 which has a high success rate to elimating bone pain and could shrink the tumors on her spine which would help Sharon from becoming paralyzed.  The bad news is her insurance has denied paying for the treatment since the drug is approved for prostate cancer patients whose cancer has spread to the bone.  As you can imagine this is very frustrating knowing there is a drug that could extend Sharon's quality of life and she is unable to receive it.  Her doctor has written an appeal letter to the insurance company with hopes that they change their mind.  However, time is of essence right now and IF the insurance approves the Radium it could still be weeks before she is able to get treatment.  I am reaching out to everyone for assitance in helping Sharon go ahead and begin treatments by paying for them now before the aggresive tumors reach her spinal cord.   The estimated cost is about 60,000, however I am hoping to raise enough money for Sharon to go ahead and get her first treatment of the Radium and pray the insurance will come through and approve the other 5 treatments.  The money raised will help her get the treatment she needs to help the pain, delay the paraylis and give her a better quality of life.  Sharon has decreased her hours at work in order to qualify for disability.  This money will also help with her lose of wages.  I am asking for all Sharon's prayer warriors to continue keeping her in your prayers and to donate to her Radium 223 fund which is her last hope of giving her some more time to enjoy life.     The money will also help Sharon do  things with her family while she is still able to.
