"Help Katie Beat Cancer"

Donation protected
After 20 biopsy’s our daughter Katie was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma with a mass the size of a grapefruit — 4 inches in diameter and pressing into her heart. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Because it was pressing into her heart and fluid was building around her lungs she was advised to get chemotherapy treatments right away. The doctor said she couldn’t do the exact chemo she had last time, as you can only put so much of the same chemo in your body and recommended ICE chemo and a stem cell transplant. (Otherwise referred to as a bone marrow transplant).

In March she began two rounds of ICE chemo and after the second round woke up with hardly any ability to remember, hallucinations and could not use her hands to even text and could hardly walk. Her blood pressure kept falling extremely low and she had to return to the ER numerous times which put her in the ICU. We went to Mayo Clinic for a consultation before the transplant, and the specialist advised us that she could in fact repeat the first chemo she had in 2015. This was a relief and a blessing to hear because the Specialist also shared that the stem cell transplant and chemo that it comes with, could cause another type of cancer.  And it comes with worse side affects.
We are thanking God for intervening and changing her treatment plan. She was then transported to the Mayo hospital for five days, to recover from her last cycle of chemo and to figure out why her blood pressure keeps plummeting – and how to keep her out of the hospital!

As many of you know, it is the second time our precious 30 year-old daughter is facing cancer. In November of 2015 Katie was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma with a 14 – inch tumor in her chest. After being misdiagnosed and given the wrong chemo, she received a few rounds of the correct chemotherapy. A prayer team prayed for her in the beginning of February and God miraculously removed the mass overnight. We are grateful for that miracle and standing in faith, believing for another.

The Oncologists will begin chemo as soon as she is fully recovered from the last chemo. There is also an integrative doctor who offers alternative therapies that will help her recover more quickly and lesson side effects throughout her treatments. She has been through so much that her body needs some additional support as she goes through 4 more months of chemotherapy.

This therapy is expensive so we are reaching out for help for our baby girl. Watching her go through this is heart wrenching and so we are trying to make it easier on her and take some of the pain away. Along with these infusions she is facing medical bills as well as other financial obligations that she cannot meet right now, being uprooted back to Green Bay and unable to work.

We are starting this fund for her to help physically beat cancer and hopefully can help lessen her financial hardship. The money raised in this campaign will be used to support her treatments and help support her financial commitments. Our family so appreciates your love and prayers and if you can donate to her fund we would truly appreciate it. Regardless, your prayers and love mean the world to us. Your prayers moved mountains last time so please keep fighting with us.
