Donation protected
All proceeds go directly to
Carla Koppes. Funds will be used to replace her lost wages as she recovers. Approximate 4 week recovery time.

When : May 3rd is the tentative date of her surgery.
What: She is having a total, right upper lung lobectomy.

Most of you know Carla Koppes. She is part of the community here in Bucksport, Maine. She has probably been a part of your life in one of the following ways.........
She is a mother. Her boys are her world. Her oldest son is deployed serving over seas in the U.S. Navy.  His wife, Myriah is living in Virginia with their daughter. Her youngest son lives here in Bucksport with me and our daughter. They are a very close family as they are a military family that has traveled the world together. Her husband, Wayne is a retired veteran that served in the U.S. Navy. This life took them all over the world and away from their family. Making the bond between these four one of the strongest bonds a family will have. They settled in Maine and found their family to grow. They were accepting of their sons friends and treated them as if they were part of the family. From this, you know her as Koomkie. Her family continued to grow as her sons took wives and each had a daughter only three weeks apart. For this you know her as MiMi. She serves as a teacher at Bucksport Area Child Care Center where she has helped instill self confidence and respect into the youth of this town. For this you know her as Miss Carla. She has a love for baking and has offered her delights to be served at local businesses under the name of, pie lady :)
She is a kind and caring soul and would give you the last of everything she has if you needed it. Selfless. She is my mother-in-law. The BEST kind of mother-in-law.  She's a friend, mother, sister, daughter, mimi and wife. She needs our help. She was recently diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma in the right upper lobe of her lung. She has missed many days of work just to bring her to this diagnosis. The only way to rid her of this cancer is to have the entire right upper lobe of her lung surgically removed. It is a painful procedure. We are hopeful that the prognosis will be good but in order to do that she needs to have the surgery and then heal. Carla and Wayne rely on both incomes to make ends meet. She has used most of her paid days off already and will need 4 weeks to recover. She has enough to worry about and needs to have those four weeks of lost wages covered in order to stay home after the surgery. Her surgery is scheduled for May 3rd. Let's help Carla prepare for this time by donating. Every little bit helps no matter how small. $5 is alot of money for someone who has a $0 income.  Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know this amazing woman and helping her kick cancer's ass!
Please, if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,
The Koppes Family
