Help for DJ

It was late afternoon in December 24th. Our
family was preparing for our Christmas Eve
dinner, when my oldest son told me that he
had learned that one of his co-workers was in
trouble and needed help. Apparently this
young man was in a situation where his lease
had ended, and he  didn’t have the money to renew it. Without any family or friends to help,
he sat alone in the parking lot at work.

When my son explained the story, my heart
broke, and I knew we needed to be the ones to
help. I made the quick decision to invite him to our home so that he wouldn’t be alone on
Christmas. Since then, we have learned more about this young man. His name is DJ, and he is 19 years old. Due to having parents with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as abuse
throughout his childhood, he has been on his
own since the age of 16.

He is currently working at a local car wash,
completing his GED, and aspires to get a real
estate license. He is a nice boy who has had a
very difficult  first 19 years of life. However,
I’m confident that with guidance and help, we can help this young man get on his feet.

Once he saves a little more money his plan is
to rent a place for himself. Once he does, he
will need a few things to get started.
Currently he has nothing but a bag of clothing. 

If you can help with any type of contribution, 
this will help us to buy him some of the basic
necessities that he will need to get started.
With this gesture, we hope to show him that
there is hope for him and for his future.
